Lorrie and I were so inspired by our friend Carolina’s Passion for Chocolate, that Lorrie created a gorgeous line of cards for her! I have posted a few of them for you to enjoy below…
Chocolate Collection by Leaves & Letters

Carolina is a beautiful friend of ours (inside and out!!) who introduced us to a delicious Belgian Chocolate made with a Patented Cold Pressed Technology, blended with the Acai Berry that everyone is talking about these days!! It’s called Xocai – each small piece is equivalent in antioxidcant value to over half a pound of raw spinach! Carolina tells us that it improves cardio vascular health, lowers blood pressure and improves cholesteral, but we just know how great it tastes. For your free sample, give her a call at 905.502.1448 or visit her website at www.healthychocolato.com
Definitely a classy and fresh take on stationary, and I was particularly fond of the birth announcements and calling cards.
Leaves and Letters was inspired from nature and trees, of friends, of words and the colour & beauty of images found there. The “green” thinking company created environmentally friendly papers and recyclable packaging for their products! All papers are made from 30-50% post consumer waste recycled items and manufactured using wind generated electricity.
Leaves and Letters specializes in custom and inspirational stationery , calendars that come in CD cases and flip back to sit on a flat surface like an easel, baby announcements, thank you cards and mommy cards – these must be the best invention ever!!
There is also the the very cool “Inspiration for You” section that allows anyone to do small do it yourself projects or creative gift wrapping.
It’s been awhile since we scribbled SWAK on the back of an envelope. And while our tween days may be far behind us, we miss the simplicity of sealing our letters with a kiss (real or imaginary).
Our mail won’t be missing the love with Leaves & Letters, a new online stationery boutique. Full of pretty patterns and cards contained in boxes sealed with a bow, we can rest assured our notes won’t be missing a thing.
With inspirational phrases and cute collection names, we could tell right away that our words would be in good hands. We knew we had to have the Day Dreamer ($3-$5 each) cards in time for February 14. Plus, with free Valentine’s Day Chocolate Wrappers (you just download and print), we’re even set for sharing last-minute holiday sweet treats.
The Starbird ($3-$5 each) line is perfect for all of our friends, at any time of year. If your goal is to inspire, take home a part of the Butterfly Kisses ($3-$5 each) collection and we promise they’ll be feeling nothing but hope. Plus, with great custom options (just look for
the C next to product names) such as the Beautiful Day collection ($5-$6), we can have a card for literally every occasion.
And with enough room on the inside of the cards (all come blank) for all our loving ramblings, we won’t ever have to worry about missing a word.
Well this is a special day, Leaves & Letter’s name is officially “out there”, with a few of our favourite websites and publications. Many thanks to Diana at Timeless Woman for being our first believer, and to Shauna, our favourite, devoted editor at Heart Magazine, to Sharon and Erica at Yummy Mummy and Minnow and Sarah from Savvy Mom, as well as Kelly at Life with Kids, thanks to you all for “believing in us” and helping to spread the word….looking forward to many more and keeping you posted along the way!!

eGift with Be….A Woman by Kim MacGregor & Arline Malakian
We are wishing you all the very best for a warm and wonderful 2009!!Having recharged the batteries, we are feeling ready for inspiration and a friend’s beautiful new book, is just the ticket!!If you have not seen it, you need to read Be….a Woman, expressions of life by Kim MacGregor and Arline Malakian, currently available at Chapters.
From the introduction, Kim writes – “Since we began working on Be….a Woman, Arline and I found ourselves on a journey we had not fully anticipated.Though the idea of showing images of real women and discovering the individual attributes that help to define their beauty was our primary ambition, we had no idea how much we would learn about ourselves and how deeply we would fall in love with the process of learning more about strangers.Living the experience of creating this book has far exceeded our greatest expectations.”
Trading in a career as a model to dedicate her life to changing the image of what a role model should be, Kim joined forces with internationally renowned photographer Arline Malakian who was featured in Dove’s documentary for W Network - Beauty Quest. They embarked on a life-changing, two-year journey to meet and capture the essence of extraordinary-ordinary women from all over the world. They have combined 35 years of skills and experience, in Be…a Woman: expressions of life, to create, through a marriage of words and images, a fresh new vision inviting women to celebrate their unique power and grace.
A great sentiment to start 2009, comes fromBe…a Woman….
“As women, perhaps we need to draw more from our shared experiences than from the desire to be “better than,” “thinner than,” or “more successful than.”Casting aside the limitations and inadequacies that haunt us, whether defined by the media or self-induced by rigidly categorizing our entire lives by what we consider to be our “story,” we discover that we are more than we think we are.We are enough! No justification needed…no excuses! We can all shine! We are all beautiful!Beauty is contagious!”
